Duplicate transactions

Troubleshooting Oct 8, 2026

Because Statement connects accounting, banking, and payment platforms together, a single application can combine data that would otherwise require manual reconciliation - for example, a cash flow view that draws from both your accounting ledger and your live bank balance. Statement queries connected sources separately. Connecting both Stripe and a bank feed does not automatically merge matching transactions or remove overlaps between them. For example, a customer payment recorded in Stripe may later contribute to a deposit in your bank feed. Adding both figures together could count the same money twice. Statement does not apply a universal matching rule to resolve this automatically. For a clear report, specify which source to use for each figure-for example, “Use Stripe for customer payments and my bank connection for cash balances.” If you want to investigate differences, ask for a comparison between the sources rather than a combined total.
