Draft mode

A newly created application is saved with sharing set to Private by default. You can review it and refine its content, calculations, or layout through chat before making it accessible through a share link. There is no separate draft stage or publish step for a generated app. Your edits update the saved application directly, so changes to an already shared app are not held back in a private draft. Sharing and scheduling are separate choices. You can keep an app private while scheduling refreshes, or enable sharing when you’re ready for others to view it. Creating the app does not automatically share it or schedule updates.

Preview

Preview shows the application’s current layout and saved results, including its KPI cards, charts, tables, and written summaries. It lets you check that the content is clear and the app looks right before sharing it. For example, you can review a board dashboard to check the reporting period, chart labels, and summary, then use Edit via Chat to request changes. Opening the preview does not automatically refresh its data. Preview is not a “view as recipient” mode. It does not simulate another person’s permissions or show how a separately generated email will look. Access to the shared app is controlled through its sharing settings.

Sharing and version history

The source describes app sharing through a link, with viewing access rather than recipient editor roles. It also states that no application version-history screen or restore-previous-version option is currently offered. See the related drafts for full explanations.
